This had my throat tighten up. Beautifully written, and terribly sad. Wonderful job, simply wonderful. I love how Harold kept the boots, something to give back when John returns. I personally hope John *does* return.

Oh my god, I think I'm still so raw from Reichenbach that I nearly started weeping over this - even though it's definitely a hopeful story, and chances are John has had to fake his death to get away from his former CIA buddies - but the thought of Finch waiting for him and not knowing... oh, my heart!
