This show is totally my happy place. I haven't been very interested in TV lately. I'd rather be doing other things. And nothing much has caught my attention among the season's new shows. But I do look forward to Castle every week.
This episode was the hokey good time I was expecting it to be! Seeing Nathan Fillion dressed up as Mal was nostalgic fun. Loved Alexis as usual: They don't have cows in space. Didn't you wear that five years ago? Shouldn't you move on? Their relationship is one of my favorite things about the show.
Loved the references to Buffy too, of course.
Ryan and Esposito were just as adorably married as ever. (This is another of my favorite things about the show.) Loved their costumes at the party, and of course, I started to spin a scenario where Esposito goes home with Ryan afterward so he can "doctor his battlefield injuries." That's what the kids are calling it today. Or so I've heard! (I hope some good fic comes out of Yuletide.)
I still wish I liked Beckett better. Although it's not that I don't like the character. I do. I just think the actress playing her is a little wooden. I wish Nathan Fillion had someone a little more lively in that role to work off of.
Still, I have no real complaints. I don't even care about the cases. I'm just there for the charm. Is it next week yet? :)
