Supernatural

Okay, I finally got a chance to watch this ep this morning, and now I understand the mixed reactions on my flist. The end when they locked Sam into the demon tank totally took me by surprise. That was tough to see, and I don't like to think of Sam and Dean being on opposite sides, but frankly, that intervention was long overdue. I think the most horrifying part of the episode was when Sam drank the demon's blood like the scary power junkie he is.

The whole thing with Castiel was fascinating. It's totally the parallel of a family shipping their gay kid off to reprogramming camp to try to brainwash him into "being straight." I can't help feeling that no matter what they did to him in heaven Castiel really doesn't know how to quit Dean humanity.

What impressed me most about the ep was how very different Mischa Collins was able to make Jimmy versus Castiel. Kudos to him! Also, he is just about the cutest thing ever.

The previews definitely make it seem like this story is going where I've always thought it was going: brother vs. brother. I wonder if Lucifer will be freed, and that'll be the storyline of next season. I guess that could be interesting, but I can't say that I'm hoping for it.

Okay, I just can't stop thinking about how super, super slashy it is that Heaven needed to separate Castiel from Dean!
