I really liked both of the icons melo_l submitted for the Isn't It Iconic challenge, and I had an idea for the other one. I just didn't have time to write it before the deadline. So here it is now...
Hee! No, he's not an optimist at all! Poor woobie. What I wanted to say was that he was choosing to be an optimist about this. You must have read it before I fixed it.
God, didn't the first year of college suck? I remember having this big heart-to-heart talk with a friend of mine after we came back from Christmas break, finally coming clean about how we felt. It was such a revelation. "You mean, you hate it to? I thought I was the only one!"
Poor Clark! He just needed to be able to confess that to someone.
Lex is my superhero, too. Able to wield tax attorneys with a single phone call! *g*
Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I don't know why, but I love Clark the most when he's the most overwhelmed. I guess I just enjoy Lex getting to be the hero for a change! *g*
I love Hero!Lex. He takes such good care of Clark.
I love that Clark is overwhelmed. So many times Clark breezes through college, making it easy to keep his secret - keep his secret from Lex. This way he understands that he needs help and is allowing Lex to help.
It is so great the Lex is optimistic. He is still bitter, but he is willing to trust that Clark will come to him in time. Yay Lex!!!
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed this, doll. I do honestly think it would be a big adjustment for Clark coming to the city, starting college, trying to make new friends, still helping people, but having to try to protect his secret from eight million observant pairs of eyes.
And I really like to think that Lex would understand--and even though Clark's stubborn refusal to confide in him would be really frustrating--he'd still be there to help. LIke a true friend!
I loved this! I love post Smallville fics and I love optimistic fics. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Makes the reality of the show a little more bearable . . . but just a little . . . Thanks for this!
