Mythic Motifs at work - #9 - Robin Hood
So I finally got around to seeing Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. Although it's been touted as being "different" than what you usually expect from a Robin Hood story, I contend that it isn't quite that much.

It's not the first time I've looked at the myth of Robin Hood. A few years before I wrote The Scribbler's Guide to the Land of Myth I had prepared a paper for a Robin Hood conference, dealing with Robin Hood and the comic book hero Green Arrow. In that paper, I also expounded on my theory of the Outlaw Hero, and much of that discussion helped shape what went into The Scribbler's Guide.
