World Cup Woes & Lulu
It’s been a disappointing weekend for the footie. I havent blogged about the World Cup but I have to talk about England’s woeful performance. I was all geared up to watch it. I was eating strawberries and cream as I sat in front of my telly, thinking to myself ‘How English am I?!?!’ then England played badly and all my goodwill and excitement fizzled out.
An England win against Algeria should have been the crowning glory of the weekend. I think the whole country was counting on a feel-good performance on Friday night but instead we got a frustrating 0-0 draw.
IN OTHER NEWS, the Glee finale was on TV, funnily enough at the same time as the England match. I switched over to Glee for my weekly dose of cheese and fun times. it was pretty okay - I mean, it was a tad lacklustre. Vocal Adrenaline had the most insane routine I’ve ever seen. Seemed more like an acrobatic performance than a showchoir! I hated Journey medley. They should have busted out some musical numbers. I really liked ‘To Sir With Love’. Yes, it was schmaltzy but winningly so. How can you go wrong with lyrics like:
Those schoolgirl days, of telling tales and biting nails are gone,
But in my mind,
I know they will still live on and on,
But how do you thank someone, who has taken you from crayons to perfume?
It isn't easy, but I'll try.
