brown paper packages tied up with string...
I’ve been waiting patiently and finally my competition prize arrived in the mail today. Yaaaaaaaaaay!
I unwrapped this little beauty and had to snap a pic of it because it was packaged so beautifully with crisp, handmade paper and brown string. I had died and gone to whimsy heaven!
I couldn’t wait to try out the quill and it wasn’t that difficult to use like I had imagined. I didn’t open the ink cake package that was sealed with red wax (squee!) and instead used my own bottle of blue quink ink. The quill writes just like a calligraphy pen. There was a lot of scratching and dipping into the ink pot and my writing was splotchy in places just like you would expect. I’m going to practice with it first and then find a nice quote to write out which I’ll snap and upload here.
It really cheered me up. Funny how things come along at just the right time.
