Conventions and Festivals

As always things have been busy. Lots of fursuits in the works and lots going on for the summer. Recently I had the opportunity to go to a local Lantern Festival. I had purchased a mask for my Mate by Miss Monster (http://missmonster.deviantart.com/art/Pewter-colorway-122599312) It was such beautiful work it inspired me to make one for myself. This was the result:

This was a lot of fun to do. I very rarely get to make anything like this. I looked up all sorts of Japanese, Chinese, and Tibetan masks for inspiration. There are some really remarkable cultures out there! Unfortunately the lantern festival got rained out, but at least I got a fun project out of it!

In a weeks time we'll be at Rocky Mountain Fur Con. They have kindly asked me to be one of their Guests of Honor. http://www.rockymountainfurcon.org/2009/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=27 This is my first time at this con. I hope it will be a lot of fun for everyone attending. :) Later this year I will also be one of the returning Guests of Honor at Midwest Fur Fest. http://furfest.org/2009/mff2009-goh.html I've been to MFF once before and it was a fantastic time; this year is going to be an amazing event! I am honored and thrilled to have the chance to attend both cons as a GOH; I'm so excited! This is certainly turning out to be a busy year, but also very cool!
