Iliad Book 1: the 50 word summary
King Agamemnon refuses ransom for Chryseis, daughter of Apollo's priest, so Apollo strikes the Greeks with plague. Agamemnon reluctantly agrees to return Chryseis, but seizes Achilles' girl Briseis in compensation. Achilles begs his mother, the goddess Thetis, to ask Zeus to avenge the insult. Thetis does so, predicting tragic results.
