I haven't properly posted anything here in a while (unless you count the massive detective crossover that I should have just left well enough alone in) so here's a quick line to let you know that I'm not actually a ghost automatically updating once a week. (And since I'm no longer producing quite a whole chapter a week... it's a good thing that I've written up to chapter seven and that there are only a couple chapters left to write, because otherwise my posting would catch up to me very quickly.)
You don't get a Elven Heritage Legacy chapter quite yet, though, because I've run fresh out of weekends for a little bit, so filming is a lot behind where I thought I'd be. I'm also not doing Myshuno! because I have a thesis to write. Yes, that thesis. It's been changed on me again, would you believe it? If you remember what it even was, forget it now, because it's a do-over all over again. I've been clinging to what little remains of my sanity by playing minecraft, reading bad editing submissions over my favorite english major's shoulder, and getting dragged out to eat by my history major, who deserves a minor medal of honor for putting up with my insanity above and beyond what's required of him as my third-in-command at writing club. (My current roommate is my number two, which is working out quite well so far. For one thing, she went into this knowing I'm a spaz, and for a second, I actually remember to get stuff done more than half an hour ahead of time because she's waiting to kick me in the ass if I don't.)
I'm also not doing NaNo this year, because, again, thesis. This doesn't quite mean that you won't get any random snippets of text throughout November and December, though: I intend to spend most of Christmas break training myself to write short mysteries, and I'm currently studying them in the hopes that it will stick. Some day when I have less homework and more gumption, I'll treat you all to an analysis of the differences between the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries, the Lord Darcy universe (god, I love that universe already,) and the Hercule Poriot mysteries. I've also got Nero Wolfe, Miss Marple, Dupin and The Thinking Machine all squirreled away.
And to think that, all this time, if I'd been an english major, I could be doing my thesis on "How to write a mystery novel."
