It continues to amuse me that any fast food restaurant with a drive-thru refers to it as "the hole", and the employees tend to share a head-set driven camaraderie. . . Is Wendy's better? I almost made the switch (I'm goin on 2 years at McDonalds. . . so much for Grasso education) last winter but stuck where I knew the job and had developed these aforementioned friendships.

yeah, Wendy's is a lot better. The management (at least at mine) is 10x better. heh.. I don't know if you recall, but there was some new stories about some cockroaches and unsanitary conditions at a McDonalds (in Colchester, to be more specific). Yeah, I worked at that one, and let me tell ya, the management was really horrible... 2 and a half years was way too long to be working there. Ya get used to the new people at Wendy's. I'm still friends with a lot of my friends at McDonalds (which is right across from Wendy's so it's even easier). A few of my friends at McDonalds even jumped ship and came to Wendy's. I get paid better ($8/hour starting for me, at McDonalds, I started at $7.10/hour and after 2 years, had managed $7.65/hour)... Ah, it's all good though. Eventually, I'll be getting out and such. Grasso did nothing for "furthering my education." I enjoyed Electronics but I know that other schools (non-tech schools) learned more then I did in the Electronics field (whether they could keep up with it, who knows). Very

Hmmm. I make $7.75 at McDonalds, and when I was going to switch, they were offering me $7.50, which at the time was what I was making at McDonalds. Im starting to think Ive been there for way too long ( our management is horrible), and I dont know. How do the tasks compare (i.e. grill, the hole, etc.)? I dont have sanitary issues with our store, actually we are alot cleaner that others that I have helped out at, Niantic for example. (I work at th eEast Lyme store). Sry. Im really not trying to be annoying, Im just looking for some insight. Maybe I should just take the CNA (certified nurse's assisatant)course Ive been thinking about and then take nursing classes while working as a CNA. I guess that would sort of invole my bio training. Im just frustrated at the emount of mediocrity and this brick wall I have hit. Maybe I shouldn't have fucked off so much and school and stayed away from the drugs. Most people are shocked to hear me talk bad about drugs now, and about actually having a future. But I will say I enjoyed my time at Grasso,

heh... At Wendy's, the tasks make more sense (in my opinion at least). At my McDonalds, the person "in the hole" would do jack shit.. Just sit there, watch some TV (a nice perk heh) but would serve no other purpose then to take someone's money (and order if they're feeling up to it). At Wendy's, the person in the hole has to help with buns (buns aren't toasted, they're microwaved) and cook bacon (also microwaved). They're helping out and making things more effecient. I, personally, prefered the grill at McDonalds because I could screw around alot but I can't really anymore. Everything is made to order (meat isn't put in the UHC or whatever it's called, and stored for an hour, it's cooking on the grill until it's called for by the sandwich maker). Things make more sense at Wendy's, I think. But if I were you, I'd shoot for that CNA thing and get out of the whole fast food thing.

Yeah. When we're in the hole, its more like, hey- take your orders, put them together, and then put together for front etc. We have insane lunch rushes b/c we're right off the highway and evryone is constantly busting their asses. . .Actually there have been days when I was the only one in grill and I was taking orders for drive-thru. I dunno. I should just take the class.

heh.. Yeah, believe me. I know what it's like being off the highway. We're off Route 2 (between Hartford and New London/Norwich/Everywhere else)... We had one of the busiest McDonalds around until Wendy's came in (which is when I jumped ship). heh... Now McDonalds gets very very little business while Wendy's is packed constantly. Should have seen opening day at Wendy's. It was insane.
