He was involved in the battles yesterday with the woman who attacked the village. He was injured, but not killed. He simply wishes to remain in the clinic for the time being, because of his wounds. I'm passing along this message so you won't worry--or so Okita hopes.

[He rests back against the pillows propping him up, looking at the bandages around his hands.]
...It is. [In a way. He'd been kicked in the chest a few times, after all.] But what about you? ...I'm sorry for jumping in like that.

[Homura remains not entirely convinced. Disease is a thing unknown to the Heavens, but injuries are a different matter, and it strikes him as unusual.
Still, he grins a the other man's concern.]
I'm not bedridden. You don't need to worry about me--or to apologize for your actions. You had a reason for what you did.

[The longer he's at rest, the less likely he is to cough. The rest will heal eventually.]
Just because you're not bedridden doesn't mean you're not hurt. [He sighs, however, picking a piece of lint off the bedcovers and dropping it to the side.] I had my reasons, yes, but mostly... [He didn't want to see someone else die.] ...Just having a reason doesn't excuse it.

[It's an interesting notion. Homura knows just how difficult it can be to earn Okita's trust; he himself likely hasn't done so fully. But these people that he chooses to live with are a different matter, or so the demi-god would think. Yet Okita doesn't wish to see them, why? For fear of making them worry, or worse?
Regardless, Homura considers Okita's logic, then slowly nods.]
It was reckless and foolish, especially given the strength of that opponent. I hope you'll act more rationally in the future. [He grins.] Perhaps you'll start now by realizing that since I don't hold any anger toward you, you don't need to hold any guilt.

Okita simply smiles and lets Homura think what he wants. He won't be answering that question and will instead focus on the other one.]
I'm glad you aren't angry. I'll try from here on, but I can't make any guarantees. Wolves rarely back away from a fight after all.
