Fire Emblem: the Sacred Stones - Chapter 7

Nov 26, 2008 08:44

What's this? Another update in less than a week? Truly it is the season of thanks!

Well, that's where we're going, all right.

I did a little bit of item fiddling - gave Eirika and Joshua another vulnerary each, sent some stuff I didn't need to the convoy...

I missed this, but it panned up to the castle and back down again.

"Can't... look... directly... at... girl..."

Yeah, I don't know how you missed that, Lazuli.

Colm~ This is very true.

I have nothing to add except for hearts at Joshua.

Yeah, that looks about right.

Fiddling with the formation, restarting the computer after it shut down...

"Don't wanna."

Apparently they can shoot into melee without killing their own guys accidentally. Weird.

So we are at an impass. If we wait out the ballistae before charging in, Neimi can't use it. But if we charge in, we'll probably get hit by it. Those things hurt.

There's the castle we panned to, by the way.

Hmm... that should work.

Kind of lame, Gilliam.

You could learn something from Eirika.

See that range? That's a very nice range.

It has five shots. Easy to wait out, but annoying when you want to use them.

There's no battle animation, unfortunately. But at least you know what all combat looks like if you turn animations off.

Missed a level-up screen.

Lute is four levels lower than this guy and has strictly better stats. Grado really needs to rethink its employment choices.

To keep things like this from happening.

Oh, we can support those two already? We won't do that until after we get into Eirika's route, though. That way we can support them with other people in Ephraim's.

It was fun while it lasted. And we took out two guys!

I've been using the 'stick Ross behind tough people and let him finish enemies off' strategy.

It involves lots of healing.

More Skill = more crits. Beautifully done, Joshua.

This is how far we've made it. Unfortunately...

There's a ballista up there.

So what we did is we sent Eirika to the very edges of that, in the few spots between the cliff and the ballista-range, and let them attack her. (Note how wounded she is. Mercenaries are tough.)

We had to have Artur come help and then be rescued, but it worked out.

Then we stuck Gilliam in the ballista range, and Natasha healed him every time he got hit (which was all the time).

And then it was out of arrows!

Natasha got a weapon level from all that healing, too.

Only a couple left...

Murray has both a regular lance and a javelin, so it's not safe to leave our weak ranged attackers two squares away. However, if no one ends their turn two squares away, he won't attack. So what you can do is to have, say, a mage blast them, and then someone rescue that mage and someone else drop them so that they can blast again next turn.

I wanted Ross to get in the last hit. Ross only did like two points of damage to him.

Assuming he hit.

Then I was like 'screw that, this is taking too long'.

And look what we looted off his body~ Promotion item!

Seth's evil twin?!

...no, it's blue. Must be Seth's good twin.

...hm. It might just be me, but don't I remember you looking...?

Hm.

Starved you? Refused to let you tan? I don't know what Eirika's getting at here.

We're thrust right into the next chapter, with no time to restock, but I went back and restarted so that I could copy the file. I don't remember if you get a chance to save before the route split.

And... oh yeah, I guess this spoils the next chapter. But honestly, is there anyone who wasn't expecting that?
