things i've learned this weekend....
1. akai mpc series FOR TEH WIN!!!!
Got to play with a 2000XL and was amazed by how fucking good they sound, i know a lot of its down to your choice of samples but DAMN! Such a great quality and brightness to drum sounds, i was planning on getting a roland MC series but after seeing an akai in action i do believe an mpc1000 is in order :D
2. Dave Smith Poly-volver is syth sex!!!
i've heard a few of the mid price range synths and for sound the poly-volver is god like. Totally out of my price range but if i ever get the chance...... oh yes.. it shall be mine.
3.Forking out £57 for a taxi to rochdale then having to go walking up into the fucking Pennines for a rave in a quarry was so worth it!
Not my usual tastes, but i always promised myself i'd go to a rave if i ever got the chance, and one appeared on saturday night, my god it was fucking epic! loadsa peeps, loadsa music [3 seperate sound systems] and we danced well into sunday morning, staggered back down the hill and got a lift off two fellow travellers [by the names charlotte and dave if memory serves] back to something resembling civilisation where me sarah tink and twink proceeded to hammer back the cider and beer til bout 10 hours ago
