AU | When Sif was very young, she was sent to be fostered in the house of Odin and raised with his two sons, Thor and Loki. When they grew up and the time came for Thor to take the throne, they assured each other that nothing would change-and then Sif declared war on her family.

excellent mix as a prompt. The story's roots are in the Thor movie, but squint and you'll spot influences back to the Norse Poetic and Prose Eddas and, because I'm a shameless nerd, the Homeric epics as well. You could read this as the story of Helen of Troy if Helen decided Mycenae was too damn small for her ambition and launched those thousand ships herself. Or, it's the story of three siblings who loved each other much more than the kingdom they swore to protect.
