NEXT UP ON SCREAMLET THEATER
Like I already said on twitter -- I think I'm writing a big primer on Kirk/Spock reboot fic, with a few looks to other Trek-specific fic-writing guides but mostly based on my own experiences reading/writing in this fandom for the past two years.
Look, I have amusing topic headers and I can't just let them go to waste, so why not write a primer?
ANYWAY, consulting via e-mail with waldorph and leupagus re: the portrayal of ladies in fic, leupagus pointed this out and I think we should all take it to heart:
AND HEY YOU KNOW WHO NEEDS TO STOP BEING A HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING JUST BECAUSE YOU FEEL LIKE IT? JOCELYN. STOP RAGGING ON MCCOY'S EX, JESUS, WOULD *YOU* WANT TO BE MARRIED TO THAT ASSHOLE? I'D TAKE THE WHOLE PLANET IN THE DIVORCE TOO, THE GUY DRINKS LIKE A FISH AND USES HYPOSPRAYS AS WEAPONS.
'WAH WAH WAH JOCELYN MADE HIM LIKE THAT, LEN WAS A KITTEN BEFORE SHE RUINED HIS LIFE' -- SHUT THE FUCK UP. I bet the straw that broke their marriage was when he snarled at his daughter to STOP BEING SUCH AN INFANT because a bee stung her or she ate a peanut and ANAPHYLAXIS IS REAL ANNOYING, Y'ALL.
