How could I not see
What's in front of me
How the years change and wear
Slow heartbreaks and tears

I wish I could learn from the start
And not begin with a broken heart
How can I say you're all I want to see
After all I've done, all I've done for me

Is it so easy to just write poetry?
Which conditions the heart;
The choice or the leaping excitement
Can I choose to fall in love again?

Can love be rediscovered
Can heartbreaks recover
Simple joys of enjoying one another
How many more days of pain?
How long more our story, how much farther?

How could I not see
The joy in this journey
I swore to protect
But I'm the reason for the heart attack
I hope we recover, I hope we get back
