last night at work, one of the cooks came up to me and asked, 'como se dice darketa en anglais?' and i was like, 'uhh, no comprende darketa. explain it.' he goes, 'uhm... black hair, black eyeliner, boots...' and i was like, 'HAHA ohhh. gothic. why? what made you think of that?' he goes, 'rafael and i saw you at target last night and that's how you looked.'

[!!!] so i was all excited and had to verify the term. so i rushed back to rafael and asked, 'como se dice darketa en anglais?' sure enough, he said he had forgotten the word for it, but he described it as black hair, eyeliner, boots, et cetera. he said, 'it's very popular right now where i come from.' [cancun.] he was trying to describe something about them writing something. something about writing, and artwork. and i was like, 'graffiti?' he nodded intensely! MEXICAN GOTH GRAFFITI ARTISTS! god, i don't know why but... for some reason, the whole idea was really cute to me and i had this sudden urge to vacation in mexico. i guess it's probably because i was thinking of how sweet all the mexicans i work with are [when they're not doing creepy things like taking secret pictures of you with their camera phones,] and how their faces just sort of light up when they see you, and they will pretty much do half of your sidework because they're in love with you. and then i imagined them having crazy aqua-netted out hair and bauhaus t-shirts and spraypainting te amo screamingvenus on cement walls across the city.

tickets went on sale sixteen minutes ago. and i already purchased mine AND made a photopost about it. pretty much the fastest darketa in the NATION.
