Well, they want me to go to Cancun for the meetings with different agencies.
It will cost me $1495 in order to go. This is, however, all inclusive. It would cover my flights, my hotel accommodations, ALL my meals, my alcohol, my transportation, etc etc etc.
But it is $1495. That is more than I take home each month. That is almost 3 months worth of rent.
Unless I hit the jackpot in the next week, I'm not going. It was a nice idea... but I can't afford it. And it is only a 91% contact rate for the last one that they did. That's contact. Not contract, not how many percent of the people that went actually got the job, but how many people were contacted by the agencies.
As much as TJ (the person I spoke with) may say it isn't like the model thing I did last year, it is just like it. I have to pay to go, there is no guarantee of anything, and I basically just have some serious reservations about going.
So I'm not.
In other news - a local photographer that I have been talking to has called me back. She needs some shots to show prospective customers, and I need headshots, so we are going to do a trade of my time for free prints. I've got an appt to go to her studio on the 22nd.
