Apologies in advance for using the wrong Doctor icon...it's "a" doctor but not "The" Doctor (note capital letters). Need some good Doctor icons.
Now that I have gotten through the second series of Doctor Who, I am kicking myself for coming so late to the party. At least I'm here! Again thanks to Molly for the use of the DVDs. Maybe this weekend we could do the exchange again!
I would love to discuss with anyone their thoughts and feelings on Tennant's first series. A few opinions of note behind the cut.
OK, Tennant has grown on me. I have to admit I had seen only bits of Tennant & he seemed a little over-acty and his intense "stare" was a bit silly, compared to Eccleston's darker portrayal, peppered with earnest bits of goof. Nope, thoroughly in love with the Tenth now.
The Girl in the Fireplace seems to be a sore point with many of the fans here, although it didn't so much for me. It was a bit out of the blue for Doctor to suddenly invite Reinnant (or whateve Madame du Pompadour's first name was) along for traveling, but I didn't feel as outraged on Rose's behalf, not with Mickey running around with them.
The one episode that bored me a little was "Fear Her"...it was more like "STFU Chloe". The Doctor running with the torch seemed a little contrived...well OF COURSE the Doctor would light the Olympic Flame. However, the last episode had me full on sobbing. I had seen the last 15 minutes of it months ago and even then, out of context, with the scant framework of Doctor Who mythos I had, I teared up at that episode. But now having seen the whole thing...thank God I was home alone, Peter would have been upset with me for crying so much.
OK
