So, hello amigos! It's been some time, how are you doing? I'm sadly unable to find any strength at all to follow your journals so please, bring me up to date with your daily life. Any exams, job changes, journeys, new friendships that are important to you? Tell me about them!
I'm still working, and will be till around 7th September. But that's enough on that subject.
Exam news
I passed the Certificate of Proficiency in English I sat for in June. And I got B! Admittedly, if I took a little more care I could have gotten A. You B for result between 75% and 79% and I got 77%. Meaning I got the perfect middle but didn't need a lot more to get A. My results from particular parts show this especially well since I passed Reading, Use of English (grammar) and Listening parts with flying colours but completly screwed Speaking and Writing. Writing wasn't a surprise - I write the way I am, with simple words, and I'm dyslexic. But I'm surprised by how low I scored in speaking part. I probably didn't use vocabulary sophisticated enough in both parts even though I know it which other parts show.
Anyway, I'm very happy with B since CPE is Cambridge ESOL's most advanced exam. It is aimed at people who use English for professional or study purposes. And also: a CPE certificate is valid for life, you never need to take the exam again.
This result was the last one I waited for and also the last part of my goal-plan for this past half of year. And those were:
✓ Did and with the highest grade too!
- Pass the Matura exam (finals) with good results.
✓ With results that I already wrote about and that were
beyond my dreams.
✓ As already noted did and with a B!
- Get accepted into Uni and for my chosen major.
✓✓✓ XDDD
So, I'm pretty content with myself. :)
The beginnings of Uni life
Currently I'm awaiting the decision on whether I got into dorms or not. The results will be available on 11th August so that's quite some time yet. I'm anxious that I won't get in which would about double my living expenses but I hear that there are lots of places. And even if I don't get into my chosen dorm there should be (apparently) lots of free places at other dorms, both from my and other Unis.
So, that's about where I will live during the course of my studies. And here's about who I will study with.
I applied for the integration camp. There's one organized for people who just got accepted into university and I think it's a good idea to meet people who I will study with. Additionally there will be people from two others majors who have campus in the same place we do so hopefully I will meet some guys (as my major isn't really popular with them).
The camp is organized really close to my home and I actually went there twice with my elementary class. The whole thing starts on the 12th of September and lasts till the 17th. The bus departs from Warsaw. I kinda plan to go there a few days before, visit my grandparents and my brother and then go on the camp. After that I will go home to enjoy my last days there before moving to another town and leaving my old life behind me. (I'm sooo terrified and sad about that. I will get so homesick - I know that already.)
But I'm kinda scared a little of this camp. It's said on the promotional site that there will be discos every night and when it comes to me, dancing is not the thing I impress people with. Or my slim legs for that matter, which I will also have to show because this camp is by the lake and surely we will swim. On that note, I need to buy new bathing suit and tan some more. I will never impress anyone with my pale complexion and pale chubby legs- and yes, I will be trying to impress people.
Oh well, I will face those problems when the time will come.
