iconic_writings' Challenge 2-40: Naked. What happens when The Doctor's glasses have been augmented thanks to a seeming sonic screwdriver mishap?
Author's Note: I think I need to stop writing at 1 in the morning... Short rather goofy longer drabble-types. Anyways, enjoy and feel free to comment.
“There's no way you're getting these back. I'm not letting you see anymore of me with these!” Rose squeaked out, the Doctor's spectacles held out behind her as she backed up towards the console, trying to avoid the Doctor's reach. Her eyes sparkled in the light of the control room, dim as it was.
“And give me a reason why I shouldn't after hiding what you did with my glasses and the sonic screwdriver?” he asked, his brown eyes pools of mixed annoyance and amusement. There was a small smirk on his face as his eyebrow quirked. “I didn't particularly like putting my glasses one day and find myself looking at the naked form of a Q'athun. All tentacles and pus and...” He shuddered as he thought back to the sight. “They are hideous enough when wearing cloaks.”
Rose burst into a fit of laughter that took a moment to calm down from thanks to that memory. “Now you know that none of that was intentional. It's not my fault that using setting 36 on your specs messes with the way you see things. My making you see everything as naked when wearing your glasses is completely accidental.”
“Accident or no, you owe me, Rose Tyler, and I intend to make sure you pay your debt in full,” he told her, a hint of mock threatening entering his tone.
“You'll have to get your glasses back fir- Wait a minute... They've been like that since the Q'athun? You told me it's only been since Marnachian quadrant last week after I asked you about setting 36 on the sonic screwdriver,” she said, a realization clicking in her mind. “The Q'athun were over a month ag- You cheeky git! How many times have you looked at-”
The Doctor realized his screw up and grinned broadly. Mainly because setting thirty-six had nothing to do with x-ray effects his glasses were having. All setting thirty-six did was tint everything purple. She didn't need to know that though. Well, not yet.
“Well, there's a simple explana- You know what? Never mind. Keep the glasses! I've got another pair,” he said quickly before quickly moving backwards, turning, and darting back down one of the corridors of the TARDIS, trying to outrun his companion. He was starting to wonder if complementing the small blue bird in the middle of her chest would get him into more trouble or less.
