>> Terezi & Nepeta
>> Months in the past
>> A first meeting
Nepeta:Once again Nepeta found herself with the dull duty of looking over the headquarters, attempting to do what she could to maintain its appearance of being nothing but a simple bar. Tedious. As of late Nepeta was getting to grow a little tired of staying on the sidelines, especially when her brother and the people she had come to consider her close friends went off risking their lives. Granted they were just going around picking up information now but it was still the principle of the matter.
She pouted to herself, looking down at the table she had been wiping clean for the past ten minutes. She was strong! She was stealthy! And she knew that some of them had probably been doing dangerous things at her age so why shouldn't she be allowed to come along?
"Blargh! It's not fair." She flopped over the table, tail swishing in agitation. One day she's just sneak along whether they wanted her to or not.
Terezi: It was funny how this time, it was Terezi herself who was "fresh meat" in the group; she had yet to meet most of the others by more than just name. To say that John was basically her guide through all these not-so-awkward first meetings wasn't really an understatement. To be fair, she hadn't expected him to go so far to fix things - not because of lack of willpower, now; on the contrary! But security wasn't exactly sloppy in its job. To know they were managing themselves well enough to have survived this long was an inspiring notion and maybe that's what motivated her to do more than simply accept her dislike for the skewed social structure and actually help in doing something about it.
The red-haired girl had been down in the slums more often than not - but not quite for this purpose, this was a new thing; having been given directions to the so-called headquarters, she hadn't lost any time in looking for it. Always by her side was a walking stick; it served its dual purpose of a staff because to be quite honest, she wasn't one to take stupid risks with her own safety. Fights happened and she'd rather not be caught unprotected in one.
Upon first inspection, the place looked like a simple bar; she arched an eyebrow, musing to herself, but didn't say much about it. She carefully tapped the door once before pushing it open just in time to listen to a complaint from the other side. She couldn't help but grin.
"Well. It sure sounds like I got here at a bad time."
Nepeta: Nepeta lifts her head up in surprise when she hears the voice, and looks in Terezi's direction. Now there was something she didn't see every day--a fairly clean and healthy looking person. She couldn't help but be a little wary at first since this person was a complete stranger but she gave her a smile nonetheless.
"Older siblings are a pain in the neck." she said by way of explanation. There was only so much she could say until she knew who this person was exactly--apparently she intended to come here, but for what reason? Was she a new member, someone just looking for a drink, or something else?
"It's a slow day, today, but can I get you something to drink?" Either way a little something to get some cash flowing never hurt.
