AND I ACTUALLY SURVIVED!
Amalthea was mostly finished when I wore her on friday, though I wish I had had time to do my makeup properly :/ I really need to stop failing with fake eyelashes, but I get so annoyed after ten minutes of trying to put them on I just give up.
I lost weight from when I originally patterned the dress, so it was alot baggier on me then it should of been which was REALLY annoying. Despite that, I don't mind the costume and will probably wear it again for pictures. When it isn't boiling hot.
D'eon was worn again, even if only at 90% complete. Alot needs to be fixed still, but I'm working on it slooowly but surely. I'm pretty sure my corset is dead, and I'll be SO HAPPY when I order the metal boning to make the REAL corset. Halfway through the day on saturday the boning on the right back of my corset at the waist bent in half, digging into my skin enough for me to feel light headed and extremely pained.
I didn't want to not wear D'eon and give up on CN so early, so we actually went to the bathroom and CUT open the section that was hurting me and left it all on. It worked, and I got to lol around in D'eon for the rest of saturday. I was really pleased that I met some people who actually knew what the series was, and made a couple of new friends :3
I'm trying to be more open towards people at conventions and less stuffy. I'm having alot more fun now that I'm cosplaying for myself and just to have fun, rather then trying to impress or 'fit' in.
Thanks to Kevin and Amanda for taking lots of photos for me, and to all my friends who I chillaxed and hung with- even for a bit. I had alot more fun this CN than at AN, and it kinda pulled me out of my con gloom for the year. I'm looking forward to craptac and seeing everyone again!
