Name: Shishido Ryou

Canon Background: When Shishido first appears in the series he has long hair and has just lost his position on the Hyotei regulars for his loss to Fudomine's captain. Angry with this Shishido trains hard with a fellow teammate, Ohtori Choutaroh, and eventually returns to the team minus his locks after defeating a then regular Taki Hagniosuke. From the point that he re-enters the regulars to the end of the series he plays doubles with Ohtori. The two of them have an extremely close relationship, in part from their teamwork and the training they both went through. They play against Seigaku's combination of Inui and Kaidoh and lose, but keep their spots on the regulars. The team continued on through the tournament until quarter-finals where they faced off against Seigaku yet again. This time Silver Pair vs Golden Pair with the Hyotei boys winning through a tiebreak. There are a few things that happen in the movies that don't get played through, the same thing with the episodes of the Junior camp where he faces off with Oishi against Ohtori and Eiji.
Shishido has a grandmother, both his parents, an older brother and his dog. He's very determined, strong-willed, and works hard, after all his motto is 'Never Give Up.' When not training or practicing tennis he enjoys poker, billiards, bowling and walking his dog. When he's not reading in convenience stores Shishido is buying magazines and western Rock CDs with his allowance. He's not as mushy as one of his teammates, giving a much more "manlier" feeling than many of the other more...pampered players. While not very social in the sense of communication Shishido doesn't mind being around others and sometimes giving his input. A good and loyal friend who looks to repay any favors played him.
Ten Years Later: Really confused and angered by the change Shishido became somewhat a black cloud around the apartment building. Soon he adjusts and while he has become a bit more sociable he still remains as he was.
Sorely misses his family and doubles partner, even misses the rest of his arrogant team. Doesn't really make an effort to make friends here in the future but Shishido will help if asked.
