Pot Busts Surge in Ottawa: CP

The number of people arrested for smoking pot in Ottawa has surged since the Conservatives killed a bill to decriminalize marijuana.
The Canadian Press reports Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax all reported the number of arrests for simple possession of cannabis increased between 20 and 50 per cent in 2006.
Montreal and Calgary saw the number of arrests dip.
Thousands of people were charged with a criminal offence.
The stillborn bill by the previous Liberal government would have made possession under 15 grams a non-criminal offence punishable by fines. -
here Ok, to add to skateboarding... the next worse possible thing one can do is possess small amounts of pot! I mean, cops could be out stopping real crime but no.... if you voted conservative I would like to punch you in the flippin neck
