Chasing Ghosts

We lay all the obvious traps, from secret whispers late at night when no one can hear to old fashioned dishes surrounded by rope bound to the nearest tree. We can trap ghosts now. Its obvious why we do as well, its not like when you ask a whaler why they're going against the teaching for Free Willy one and two, films with sequels always have the more important message. They need two films to tell the audience the message. Always the message. Never about profit, thats what the popcorn cynics tell you. You know where you are with ghosts, just people aren't they.

So here we are, with bowed heads and urgently talking to people who are no longer here, politely demanding they come back into our lives, showing themselves through some sign or another, we don't care how. We just need to know they're still around. So we lay traps, some of us "trappers" relive old conversations, try to walk in the path that the known ghosts will go in just for a glimpse of them.

Its not that we're not happy with the living, but the people that are dead to us are more elusive, the stories we hear are so much stronger than anything we could hear in the coffee shops we live in.

Sleeping dogs are allowed to lie, but the dead are chased.
