HoliDAY

Dec 22, 2008 11:38

With the guy having only Christmas Day off this week, our holiday plans for the week are mini. No travel to his family, no big dinner. Just the day together, with dim sum and a movie planned.

Mother Nature gave us an early, sort-of, gift - the high winds yesterday knocked down our dead tree. Minimal damage to the fence because it fell in our yard instead of our neighbors -thank goodness. I hope the dogs next door, Brute and Knight, did not get scared by the commotion. I gave them a treat just in case.

I have to brave a mailing place to get the last packages off - they will not arrive for Christmas, but with my rule of holidays last through the Epiphany, I don't care. Plus, I remember as a kid it was a nice extension of Santa to get a few gifts after the big day. Ease the let down into the winter calm.

Last minute holiday purchases: steak for Rusty, bones for Brute and Knight, albacore tuna for the kitties, something yummy for breakfast for us. Hooray for Trader Joe's being in the same shopping center as my yoga studio. Class and shopping tomorrow night. My niece will get Christmas from Auntie on Friday when we go shopping together. She foiled my plans of giving her a cell phone by earning one herself, so we will see what she wants and needs next.
