It's meme time!

Yes, I know, it's been an eternity since I posted anything. But, trust me, something is coming soon. Something big. Mwahahaha! Until then, a meme from telaryn:

Leave me a comment o' randomness; your favorite quote, the best sandwich in the world, a good song lyric, what color pants you're wearing, and I'll respond with five questions you can answer in your own LJ leaving with them an open invitation for other people to give you comments o' randomness. Then you can ask them questions and before you know it we'll all know everything about everyone.

1. Now that Leverage is done, what show - if any - is your "must watch"? At this point, I am so horribly behind on every show that I'm not sure any qualifies for a "must watch" any more. "NCIS" and "NCIS:LA" probably come closest (it's the team/family dynamic). But "Arrow" is in line for a marathon probably over the weekend, I'm trying to make time for a "Covert Affairs" binge (to catch up on last season and get ready for the upcoming one), and, thanks to my younger daughter, I have a feeling that "Graceland" will become a staple around the house. I have also found, thanks to elder daughter, that an "L&O:SVU" marathon has the power to glue me to the couch, even when I want to throw things at the TV. (Seriously, how do those cops still have their badges?) Unfortunately, I haven't found anything that owns me like "Leverage." :(

2. What is your rule on deadlines for other people in your job? Are you required to be nice and chase them down, or is it a hard and fast "if your stuff is not in, you're out of luck" type of deal? It's sort of a combination of both. Overall, we have a hard and fast deadline (there are only two of us on staff, and we do not have time to chase down your shit). If you want something in X issue, have it to us by X date, or no soup for you. Now, if it's something we've asked for (say end-of-year school events, holiday schedules or information about who is doing/collecting what for a disaster/the needy/etc.), then we send out an email with a deadline (underlined, in bold, ALL CAPS and highlighted). If we have time, we will send out a reminder a week before that deadline. And that's it. The reminder will state (underlined, in bold, ALL CAPS and highlighted) that this is the last reminder they'll get, and if we don't have the info by deadline, that's just too bad. (My editor made me stop saying, "If it's not important to you, it's not important to me," lol.) We used to have a third person on staff who would actually chase down info. She was universally known as "the nice one." When she got laid off, priests all over the diocese shuddered when they realized they'd now be dealing with me. ;)

3. Should the alternate ending for The Tangled Web Job be written? The p0rny one or the one that would cause me actual physical pain?

4. Who is your favorite Avenger and why? Oh, man, how to pick? Tony is, well, Tony (and Iron Man 3 made me fall in love with him all over again), and I've always liked Thor (Norse god who speaks Elizabethan English? What's not to love?). I do love Cap (though in comics he can come off as awfully corny; I thought the movies did a much better job of making him earnest without the cheese factor, while also playing up the man-lost-in-time angle). I've never been a Hulk fan, though I adore Mark Ruffalo's version, and especially his Bruce Banner. I really only know of Clint and Natasha through the movie verse, but … I think maybe they're tied for my favorites? Mostly because they don't have suits or superpowers, they're just badass all on their own, because of their chemistry, and because of their darkness. These two have done bad things (I love the line, "I have red in my ledger"), and I have always been a sucker for damaged heroes trying to rise above their dark pasts. So … yeah, Black Widow and Hawkeye. At least for today. ;)

5. What is it about the Eliot/Moreau dynamic that appeals to you the most? Oh, God, just so, so much! First off, I thought the chemistry between GV and CK in the very few minutes they were onscreen together just sizzled. I immediately believed that they had history. Also, Damien was just such a perfect villain - smooth, smart, cold, utterly ruthless, but also charming and seductive. This is the guy who had the power to make Eliot Spencer do bad, bad things. To me, their relationship is sort of like the "mirror universe" version of Eliot and Nate's relationship. Eliot has given Nate his loyalty and will do just about anything for him. Despite all his flaws and issues, Nate tries to use that "power" over Eliot for good. Now, imagine Eliot giving that same love and loyalty to Damien, who doesn't have Nate's strange but rigid morality. It's like a dark and twisted love story.
