Oh, yes. I very much agree. Aimee is definitely his one who got away. Which makes it all the more epic and saddening because you know he has totally rectified in his mind that there are people who are meant for marriage and families in the conventional sense, and that just... is not him.

Oh, definitely. I think Eliot is convinced that, because of his past, he can never have any sort of "happy ending." We saw that in "Studio Job" when he talked to Kaye Lynn about being "one hundred miles down that road." He thinks his sins have put him beyond happiness, beyond redemption.

And regarding your comment above, I hope he gets his happy ending, too. He deserves it. He may thnk he's beyond redemption, but I don't believe it. And I like to believe that, after the team has finished its run, he'll make his way back to Aimee, his demons put to rest, and they can finally have that life together.
