So, I know this is incredibly vain, but when I come back to livejournal after these long-ass absences, I half expect that the whole thing (i.e., livejournal, in its entirety) has ceased to exist without me. And, to be honest, I'm actually a bit sad when I find that it hasn't.
I suppose I've never quite gotten the hang of that object permanence thing.
Anywayz, lately, I feel like I don't have time for anything - which, of course, is not the case, but it feels like it is. My schedule this semester is insane; classes aren't tightly packed, but rather, spread out so much (including into the evenings) that I rarely do anything but go to class, sleep in between, and watch some movies. (Note the lack of "do schoolwork" within that list.) It makes me feel... detached, but from what, I'm not quite sure.
At any rate, I know I should probably update about what I've done since my last entry (yep, I've done some stuff since seeing "TMNT!"), but I'm not really up to being poignant/relevant tonight, so instead, I will report to the livejournal gods on some recently pondered likes & dislikes:
Things I enjoy:
Chris Isaak - I don't care if this makes me lame -- I like his voice, I like his sneer, I like his self-deprecation, I like his face...I just like him. I am, however, slightly bewildered by his taste in women (see, for example, Bai Ling).
Eggs in a Basket - this is a good snack/meal, and easy to make.
Crisp Air - especially nice when combined with warm blankets, soft sweaters or tailored jackets.
Things that annoy me:
Fruit-flavored gum - or, I should say, the lack thereof. Remember when they used to make good ol' grape gum? Yeah. Good luck trying to find it now. There's dragon fruit (WTF?), strawberry-lime, orangeMINT (who puts mint with orange? that ruins a perfectly good flavor), watermelon, etc. But no grape. No orange. No nice, normal flavors, except for Bubble Yum strawberry something-or-other, which is not too great.
Haunted houses/mazes/halls - Basically, I'm the last person you'd want to take to one of these, because it'd pretty much guarantee you to have an awful time. I don't particularly like the concept of people trying to make me wet my pants. Plus, I can never quite get it out of my mind that these events are the perfect setting for some real pyscho to go on a murderous rampage while everyone laughs and screams and thinks it's all part of the show.
And.... I guess that's the end of my list? God, I totally suck. I know I had other things I wanted to add, but I'm tired and I want to quit writing. I guess this is why I never sign on to livejournal these days...
Anywayz...
