misplaced dbl post, sorry!randomstasisSeptember 24 2011, 15:44:29 UTC
lol! (I didn't get to see the finale last night, but clicked on your spoiler anyway, and quickly skipped down to here when my brain caught up. Guess I was too out of the loop back then.) just gonna say something here, because I'm back in anticapatory mode and thinking about the finale again. "OMG SAM I HATE YOU." Cas does it and it's "OMG POOR CAS. DEAN, STOP BEING SO MEAN." the one point of difference that really bugged me about all that was- they were really mean to Cas. He'd been such a beautiful foil for both brothers, become a friend, rebelled and died for them, all to stop the apocalypse. and then he comes back and tells them he's fighting to stop the apocalypse again- and they're all "Huh. so what? we got a little problem here you could help with."
That indifference really didn't work for the boys, imo-in the old days they'd have bent over backwards to help out a stranger, let alone a friend. Both of them would have done anything to protect each other and their friends, but risked everything to save the world. And suddenly they didn't care. And then, after they found out he'd been making dodgy deals with demons because he didn't see any other way to win(just like they did)they didn't get it at all, and still didn't try to help. That bothered me a lot because it seemed too OOC. They owed him better than that.
So- I'm very concerned about what will happen, whether any of that will be fixed in the new season. I don't really care if Cas makes it or not, but I want them to be his friends again, somehow. Not sounding good so far, though. The writers are too busy trying to figure out what the fans will squee over to do any of the characters justice and give us a decent story anymore.
