Wow....I actually DO acomplish things....even though they are small
I just hit a rather magical moment in my career. I have been looking at these images from handwritten notes from the late 1500's that I found in the archive in Trebon and wondering what they meant. They are scrawled images with some handwritten notes and to be honest, even in my line of work, they are odd. This week I have been preparing for a panel discussion with Lyndal Roper (kick-ass historian of witchcraft who will visit U of M) and as I have been preparing I found the printed version of these notes.
So what?
So the guy who published these images visited Bohemia before the print version came out. The notes I have could be the original drawings! They could also be a later alchemist's notes on the text, but I can't quite tell yet. Either way this is an exciting discovery because the archive doesn't know what it has. So this is a rather meaningless bit of trivia in the historical world, but it is exciting nonetheless.
On a side note, my portion of the workshop with Lyndal Roper may be called "Sex in Beakers." SEX IN BEAKERS! It's really fun and I have cool pictures.
