One of my friends updated her status as "four for you Glen Cocoa! You go Glen Cocoa!" and a whole slew of people all started throwing in quotes. Mine were "Is Janis Ian a lesbian? Damn hard to tell." and "I don't hate you because you're fat. You're fat because I hate you."

I DID THE SAME THING OMG
Except it was completely different. One of my new!Friends and I were talking and he said "so what's your favorite class" and I said "Math, because it's the same in every language" and he was like " ... oh" because he'd mentioned he's nearly failing data management* a minute ago, but then the friend who encourage me to leave my douchey friends said "OH MY GOD SCOTTY QUICK I LOVE YOUR WORK!" and he got it.
*I'm not sure how it is in the US, but here, in Gr 9 you separate into either university or college math. In Yr 12, it goes into:
Calculus/Vectors (you need Advanced Functions before you take this class, so it's one of those impossible classes) Advanced Functions (the hard uni math one) Data Management (the easy uni math one) Foundations (college)
** Have you ever read The Geography Club? Because something identical that happened to the main character and his best friend happened to us.

With some of them it is and some of them it isn't - I'm pretty much just worried they'll be like my old friends and when they find out I'm gay just sort of ignore it and try and leave me behind and gossip about me behind my back.
I'm doing SHOCKINGLY good in Math this semester. I mean, I only have a 71, but I've got an 89 in History and history is the class that actually counts for uni so it all works out!
It's pretty standard. I like it, but it's not exactly ground breaking or stunningly original, y'know? I think it's worth the money, but I have about 2478 books you HAVE TO read first. BUT! I came out to my friend by saying "Man, we're like Rachel/Kurt/Finn/Quinn on Glee" because a guy I thought we both were crushing on is dating this girl neither of us can stand, and then she's like "actually, we're more like Tina/Rachel/Kurt" a week later.

That sounds ridiculously awesome. I think I'll check out the DVDs. And I've yet to see Firefly! I keep meaning to, though, I hear it's great.
ALSO I WATCHED MEAN GIRLS THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY :D
