Saturday
Ah...the aftermath. Well needless to say jake and I got moving around FOUR pm. We met my sis for brunch at a nearby cafe. We sat OUTSIDE!!! It was 64 degrees! I called my dad to check the weather in Roch, 32!!! We had em doubled and we're only 8hrs east and a little south. Hmpf! We werent complaining, cept our service sucked. Jake orderd the special, after 10 mins of waiting for service, which was a tuna avacado dealy on an english muffin w/ cheese and fried, with a bloody mary. Well he got it on wheat bread, sans bloody mary, and instead of fries he got salad! WTF is this?! CRAP! Then the lady is like o ok, well that drink is on me, but we got charged anyway! What happened to NYC having the bomb restaurants!? Sigh...So we finished our meals and wandered around the neighborhood a bit more. Then we got all dressed and made our way over to W. 41st to see....RENT!!!!!! My FAVE musical of ALL time (the only good memory left of the past relationship was that she made me see it when I was skeptic). But this was my third time seeing it and I wanted to see it so bad, that I bought jake a ticket so he would go. He almost the last 2 in the house, Back row right, balcony..worst seats in the house, yet awsome view! An intimate theatre the Nederlander is in that we still felt 2 feet away the whole time! This show, was SPECIAL! The lead "Mark" was played by Drew Lachey, brother of Nick Lachey from 98degrees and married to jessica simpson and all that jazz. Anyway, so I have seen RENT on b-way, in Rochester, and again on b-way so I knew what to expect, and I was a little skeptic of how good a "Mark" Drew L. could play. Two minutes into the play I could tell this was going to be AMAZING! He was the BEST "Mark" I have ever saw!! A true talent and tribute to broadway, especially to the RENTheads. He was very physical and emotional wtih a great voice to boot! They pulled a fast one on us and switched the actors that played "Roger" but the understudy was JUST AS GOOD as the original "Roger". But, what I was so excited about, was Frenchie Davis (big black girl from american idol 2) was there. She was in the play but didnt perform last time I went, but she did this time! She was amazing! And brought the crowd to their feet during her solo in "Seasons of Love". Standing ovation after the show and I do believe I heard the words "Best musical EVER" come out of Jake's mouth!
That was our trip, we got up early the next day and drove home. We got some cool souveniers, 200+ pictures, memories to last a life time! I am so glad I went on this trip just me and Jake cuz we got to do so much more than ever before! We both learned sooo much and Jake was great fun to hang out with, never a dull moment out with us, you all know that from his party pics site.
By the way, the new site with NYC pics will be on www.freewebs.com/lipiewpictures8 and will be up soon! Farewell for now, my fingers are going to fall off my hands now! BYE!!! :)
