Alright children, it's time for Uncle Scotty to rant/bitch about something he finds annoying/offensive.
As any of you who have ever watched the Fox network know, they advertise their shows like crazy. I watch Fox alot, so naturally I've seen the preview for this Sunday's upcomming episode of the Simpsons like a gazillion times. Anyways, as it turns out on this Sunday's episode, someone from Springfield will be comming out of the closet. This bothers me not being as I don't think there is a subject the Simpsons can take on and not make it outrageously funny. What bugs me is the previews for the episode themselves. They are your standard 30 second Simpson preview spots, except for the very end. At the very end of the preview the announcer says clear as day "viewer discretion adviesed".
"Viewer distrection advised"????? WTF? I have seen hundreds of previews for Simpsons episodes and not one of them has ever ended with the line "viewer discretion advised". Now the Simpsons covers a lot of ground, and it's not at all surprising that there are some tight assed people out there who might indeed be offended by some of the show's subject material. But regardless, no epsisode has ever come with a "viewer discretion advised" stamp, until now. What prompted the change? Any logical person would conclude that it's probably the subject of the stated episode: homosexuality. "The viewer discretion advised" label is homophobic, plain and simple. It's there because Mr. and Mrs. conservative retard don't want to explain to convservitive retard jr. that some people in this world are born different from others, and that it's perfectly ok for one man to love another man, or one woman to love another woman, if that is who they are. It's not "normal", therefore we should all shun it and pretend it doesn't exist. It's bigotry, plain and simple. End rant.
Anywho, I was on the bus today and this really big, tough looking guy, with tatoos up and down his arms comes and sits next to me. I am initially a little intimidated, until I listen closely to what he's listening to on his headphones and realize that he is indeed listening to Michelle Branch. The guy's a total poser. End of mildly humerous anecdote.
End.
