Performing with the Symphony, Part Deux

Apr 11, 2012 08:15

Yesterday was my second performance with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, in which I narrated and performed children's poetry between educational blasts of Hayden, Saint-Saens and more. It's a flattering and awesome opportunity, one which I'd embrace again. There is nothing like sitting one foot away from the first chair violinist (who is the BOMB, by the way). Watching an orchestra do their thing that close up is pretty humbling. I mean, I can write a pretty good poem, but if I could write like these cats play? Psh.

I had a few pics up on Facebook, but here's one right before we started. I had to be all Nat King Cole right in front of everybody, which is a painful pose to hold for an hour, but I fake it really well. Anything for the show!
