24-Hour 2011 - Digging

Mar 01, 2011 14:48

I have ordered my first round of books to dig through for the 24-hour reading next month. Let the digging begin!

The hard part isn't finding poems. The hard part now is trying to come up with a good coffee bean poet (a poet whose work I can whip out at anytime and liven things back up if things start going south). I've only started using a coffee bean poet in the last couple of years and it's a great way to keep things moving. However, because I don't repeat poems from year to year AND I've read a lot of stuff by poets who would be awesome coffee bean poets, it gets a little tough. I have to have a lot of work by the CB poet, so it isn't as simple as picking your favorite loud-ass.

Oh wait: I think I just came up with an awesome coffee bean poet!

In related news, I'll have to put the music hat down for a couple of weeks and work on somne poems of my own. This is the one time out of the year that I can get away with my epic pieces and it doesn't drive people out of the room. And I have a few I've been working on. Campana was right: I am slowly building up to doing one long 24-hour poem some year.
