Review: GV7

Because I suspect my latest review of a poetry documentary may not make it to the site that commissioned me for it, here is my review of Bob Bryan's "Graffiti Verite 7: Random Urban Static: The Iridescent Equations of Spoken Word".

It was not kind, but they've gotten a review from me before and it was somewhat tough, so I have faith.
To that end, I ( Read more... )

Hi Victor many thanks for the past review that you wrote about GV6. A appreciate your seeking a way to find a solution to this pr issue.

Victor I can assure you that the idea of " a manufactured conflict to generate buzz" is a lttle strange and in a way too sophisticated a marketing ploy for a little indie production organiztion like us.

That technique may be something that Paramount Studios could afford to do. I remember 20th Century Fax and "the Blair Witch Project" and their use of the internet to create buzz for the movie.

Trust me that ain't us lol. None of that relates to GV7. Besides I don't think any campaign that turns off folks or engenders negativity in the minds of people can ultimately be turned into a positive. I'm familiar with the saying that "just as long as they spell the name correctly..." but that hype is flawed...negative energy is negative energy and that again is not where I we are coming from.

As to appearances, that is why I'm here to hopefully answer any false impressions and set things right. Loida text-messaged me and asked me to come here, so here I am.

For the sake of clarification I pray that everybody can accept that I wish only the best for everyone and respect the work of Scott Woods.

With that as my last note, I've got to get back to work.

Blessings and peace.

Well, I didn't say it was done well. (:

But jokes aside, I'm willing to take you at your word.

You're way more trusting than I am, Victor.

While I'm not saying it was Bob Bryan that posted those comments, I find it almost impossible to believe that these comments don' come from someone involved in he process, be i actor, producer, key grip, whathaveyou.

How would a fan boy even have found this LJ?

Oh, you're probably right. But I've dealt with the man before, and I think we basically understand each other. His PR strategy from day one on these DVDs has been driven by good will across the Internet, getting bloggers to talk about them. And now he knows this particular action will generate bad, and will prevent people -- his own, anyway -- from writing about his DVDs in the future.

"Anonymous" up above may well have been someone involved with the DVD, but I suspect it won't happen again any time soon.
