Also... there's something kinda wack about the language in 100 Bullets I think. Like, he nailed the white characters, but the characters of color? I forget brothaman's name, but sometimes, I couldn't understand a word out of his mouth because it was so bad and forced... to me.
What did Dwayne McDuffie (Static) say?
Oh yeah, LJ fucked UP your formatting, but it didn't matter.
You know, being that I came into comics as an adult, I realized early on that Marvel has issues with race, DC circumvents this by not really dealing with it (although there are two characters of color I can think of -- the new Blue Beetle who is Mexican and Firestorm who is a brother and who is not selling well last I heard... had to stop collecting it because money got tight and my partner is more of a fanboy than me, so I dunno what's going on) BUT, you don't see any real... dealing with them from the stance of being people of color... Teen Titans has Cyborg and... the bee woman... I can't remember her name... and Doom Patrol has... well, maybe DC has better representation, but there's no consciousness and I think that's what's missing -- in general.
Before reading your article, I had to do some research and find out who Luke Cage was beyond name -- I have seen him since I read House of M, but this was cool! Thanks for finding and posting it.
