this is a fabulous recipe. no idea who the thrale family is.
Pancakes
Makes 4 pancakes.
Ingredient
Metric Imperial
Egg 1 1
Plain flour 100g 4 oz
Milk 275ml 11 fl oz
Margarine 25g 1oz
Vegetable oil drizzle
Salt pinch
Whisk flour, egg, salt, butter and half of the milk until thick.
Gradually add more milk in the centre of the mixture and swirl around. Let the mixture stand for ten minutes until you have a consistency similar to single cream. Fry in pan (skillet) until golden brown and firm.
Serve with a sprinkling of sugar or jam (jelly).
Eat hot.
i find it weird that british pancakes are so flourless- like crepes, and then scones are like so completely flour, any less or any more flour in scones seems to make them horrible, thus i think you would never guess that scones are a good thing to make.
