Dear LJ Genie: Rock Band!

snarkyshark2 and I need your advice on obtaining Rock Band (2?). The most advanced gaming system we own is a Playstation 1 (yes, 1!), so we need to get that, as well. What is the cheapest and best way to go

Wii! First, Mario kart is awesome. 2nd, wii fit is awesome. 3rd, rock band 2 is awesome (the drums with version 1 reportedly broke down on all systems, and no downloadable content on rockband 1). 4th-wii=nintendo=mario=donkey kong= MORE MONKEYS! 5: I own nintendo stock and need the money. I also own guitar hero world tour, and we could have played it. So far I don't like it as much, but I honestly haven't given it a fair chance.

Costs-wii $250. Extra wiimote, about $40 (don't need for rack band 0r Fit). Rock band 2 deluxe (w drums and 1 guitar, and Microphone) $170ish. maybe an extra guitar (about $60).

I had psx 1 & psx 2, sony pissed me off with how often they broke, and how they made peripherals incompatible between them, so I jumped ship & skipped psx 3. Graphics are probably better on psx, gameplay maybe better on nintendo, but on rockband is about the same I think. Nintendo customer service has been perfect. Mae ate one of the discs, so they shipped me a replacement postage paid, no cost to me (except my stock, I suppose). Sony I have discs that don't work, they don't give a poop.
Oh yeah- purchssed song saves on wii are on sd cards or internal memory, but it only supports 2gb cards (I am told 4 gb cards with some fidgeting, but haven't tried)
Come over next weekend and we can play guitar hero world tour.

Hmm, sometimes the Wii feels like a money trap to me. I haven't used the Wii much but I've had very good experience with the PS3. A good thing about the PS3 is that it has a development kit that allows you to make your own game. Perhaps you should get both? ;-)
