Getting a new Dell for FREE!
Well, almost.
Yesterday I discovered that someone I signed up on PartyPoker (I'm an affiliate like everyone else) has been playing . . . a lot.
I cashed out $826 of affiliate money that I had no idea was there.
I had been looking at Dell from the specials posted on an amazing website www.gotapex.com. I had one in my cart to buy two days ago and was still pondering it when I got this money yesterday. The decision then became easy, and my new Dell (with a 20.1" LCD, shipping and tax included for less than $950) will ship sometime early next week. I'm going to cannibalize my old machine for components and make my new computer even better. It's pretty sweet as it is, though (retail was just shy of $1,500). I am happy.
Now I know that this isn't free or even close to it. I know I'm pulling the old degenerate gambler's trick of "I'm playing with the casino's money now", which is, of course, a complete fallacy. But still, it was money I had no idea was even coming to me, and I really didn't have to do anything to get it, so it feels like free. Woohoo!
I'm sure you've all read by now that Russ owned me last night in our heads-up matches. That's OK. The last two I lost with QQ, and I had the best of it going in, so I can't feel too bad. Oh, and I'm still 3-0 vs. Barry "Mr. Raise" Kornspan, so that makes it OK. I will re-match Russ soon.
