I do believe it's the end of the world

Crazy. I'm actually posting something in this decrepit old LJ of mine. Is it the end of the world? Is the sky falling? We'll just have to see, won't we ;p
(And should any of the above actually happen, you can blame [info]boolean263 for it, cause it's his fault for passing on an lj meme that's actually interesting to me ;p And yes, I shall be posting more often..)

1. Total number of books owned?
Umm... A lot? I've got a full bookshelf (I need to get a new one) so I'll put it at... 250? 300?

2. The last book I bought?
Year's Best SF 10, edited by David G. Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer. Can you tell I've got it right here in front of me? ;p

3. The last book I read?
See above. Actually, since I'm still reading it, it's technically not the last book I've read, so just for variety's sake, the last book I've finished was Sailing Bright Eternity by Gregory Benford.

4. Five books that mean a lot to me?
Ohh, this is a good one.. Let's see here..

Redwall by Brian Jacques - This has to be one of my dearest books. This is really the first book that got me into fantasy (and later, science fiction, even though it isn't, itself, science fiction). Also, it is a great fantasy novel, set in a hugely detailed world. I can't really say it's my favorite fantasy book (The Belgariad and the Mallorean series take that place) but it's definetly up there.

Dinotopia - Windchaser by Ciecin - Another book that means a lot to me for other than literary reasons. My parents gave this too me, oh, probably something lik almost 15 years ago (I'm not exactly sure, I'd have to check the publication date). This one got me into reading in general, much to both my parents gladness and dismay. Gladness, because I was reading like no tomorrow, Dismay, because they had to pay for all of the books that they bought me, and the late chrages when they decided that the library would be a better choice :p

Song in the Silence by Elizabeth Kerner - I don't know what to say about this one. I just happened to read it at the right point in my life, and in resonated within me. I'd say that it was one of the factors that changed my life, but that would be cliched ;p It's a good book, too, but I don't want to go back and read it again, because it will loose that special quality that it holds in my mind.

Camelot 30k by Robert L. Forward - The book that got me into Science Fiction, in particular, hard science fiction. Hard sci fi is, at it's most basic, make sure that the science is at lest possible, if not believable. All of his books are great, this just happened to be the first one that I read. Anyone who likes sci fi should read this one. :)

Te Best of the Nintendo Comics System - Come on, I had to through something amusing in here ;p A gift from my grandfather way back when (I think I got it the same Christmas I got my Nintendo. And that's a regular NES, the first one that was created). Lots of sentimetal value, but it's still fun to read now and again. It's probably a collectors item by now, but I don't care :)

5. Tag five people and have them fill this out on their LJs:
jadedwonderment, nathelmi, sedyn, star_drifter, and cyndahl, you're up!
