Well, another whirlwind week gone by. I spent another work week taking care of other people's problems. However, despite this, I did have a couple of great happenings. First, on Wednesday, after a slightly shortened day, I got a couple of books from the library I'd been waiting for. Then, I had my appointment with Susy, the Wonder Stylist, who has worked on camperamy's hair, as well, as HRH. HRH was apparently very pleased with the result, so I knew Susy could do something for me.
Susy was almost brutally honest with me. My hair is fine, straight, and limp. The only redeeming quality is the color. Susy also cleared up the mystery of why certain styles (slight poof on the top layers) work better for me than others (apparently, my forehead is narrower than my neck). Although I brought many pictures, she ignored those, and proceeded to shorten my previous style, with a couple extra layers in the back. Lo, and behold, I looked younger and hotter! Plus, I can nearly duplicate the blow drying pattern she did.
My second bonus of the night was to attend the last Green Salon of the summer. Where Bandleader, his wife, and Guitar Man #2 (one of the hosts) were in attendance. We proceeded to make some music, which was enjoyable for all. Everyone was complimentary on my new style ~ which, of course made me feel good.
And I got to meet that new boy CamperAmy is dating. I can see why she likes him ~ he is fun, smart, kind, and fine! I really like him, and it was great to see him fitting in the rest of the band. They geeked out on different styles, like those mens like to do. Apparently, he also plays bass, which we are in sore need of. Hopefully, he can sit in with us sometime. Major bonus is that he's easygoing, which is a good thing. Mostly, he is nice and sweet to Friend, and is into PDA, which she totally deserves.
Thursday nite, CamperAmy and I took our annual pilgrimage to Wolftrap to see Chris Isaak. We had a wonderful time, enjoying our wonderful picnic she pulled together, and just enjoying each other's company. She's googly a little right now, which makes me verry happy to see. She deserves some happy things going her way.
Despite all these great moments, I have been tired and drained at the end of everry day. It may be a side effect of having too many people clamoring for my time at work, but I took advantage of having Friday off and just veged. Just before I got myself together to pick up those Boys, my ex called to say that #1 Son had gotten into some trouble (again) from hanging with another boy at the studio. This saddened and disappointed me, because both of them are good-hearted and I really enjoyed seeing the comraderie he enjoys with the boys on his team. This was the last straw for the other boy, who was booted off the team, and is close to being expelled from the camp program. Unfortunately, the other boy's family doesn't seem to pay too much attention to him, allowing him to watch inappropriate videos and playing video games that are rated T and M. So he says inappropriate things (for the 10-13 age group), and has made some bad choices. I feel for him, but have to agree with the ex, that we're not allowing him to hang with our boy anymore. So #1 Son is a little upset with all this turmoil, and on top of it, is grieving for the loss of his bulldog. Dad has to give him away since Dad got attacked a couple of weeks ago. Poor dog is also feeling lonely, and has been acting out, which Dad doesn't tolerate no how.
And on top of all this drama, both #2 Son and I took bad falls on the stairs yesterday. #2 son slipped due to his Heely shoes, and took a bad bump. After spending a couple anxious hours on him (he got a concussion from running headlong into a door a few weeks ago), then I took one while carrying some glasses downstairs from my room. I still feel like I hit a car with a really stiff neck and back, and had to vacum the entire main floor to clear up the scattered glass. So no yard sale today, WAAH! But fortunately, we're both ok otherwise. #2 even had 2nd helpings of sauteed chicken last night, and some for breakfast. So I know he's all right.
Oh well, time to do the laundry and get the shopping done. Hopefully, Tuesday (my birthday) will be uneventful, except for a kicking band practice. Here's hoping everyone has a safe Labor day weekend!
