Let's Actually Take A Look @ Detroit! Common kids.

This exhibit was insane. Even though Josh and I had to pay $14 even though Jjenna got us tickets for free!! anyways the claudel and rodin exhibit was absolutely great, I didnt get to see all of the DIA but if I go to CCS next fall than I will definitely will be seeing all of the permanent exibits. Afterwords Chris, April's boyfriend, gave all of us a tour of downtown Detroit. This kid was insanely knowledgable throughout the entire tour. He gave us dates of when buildings were created and what happened here and there and overall it was great. I wish I would have known that I was going to walk around downtown cause i would have brought more than my track jacket. anyways we ended up going to the Reniassance Building and the entire Super Bowl XL maddness. It was great! I saw David Spade, Napoleon (well i didnt see them but Josh Chris and April did!!) and also the Male Jigglo guy, it was great.. Also I was on ESPN for 3 seconds!!!! but than the network cut us because Chris and I were taking pictures of the camera while they were taping us (the ESPN guy was pissed :)!) also I was on the German Network mouthing "Detroit What! Detroit What!" to all the Germans for like 30 seconds. It was so insane. Next I was going to try and sneak into the "Press Only" where the NFL Live Channel and all the hot cheerleaders were, because I am so skinny (I could have made it but I wussed out.) I also so the Heisman Trophy winner of 2005, Reggie Bush, get interviewed on ESPN... it was just so much fun. I'm leaving in Detroit I don't care. While Chris was giving us a tour he was talking to us about how so many people have this crappy perception of Detroit but most of them havent even been there. Yeah parts of it ARE dangers but just as bad as LA or NYC. I mean it is a beautiful city if you see the right stuff, not the slum areas (which EVERY city has) and yes I did see Detroit during Super Bowl weekend but just being there was amazing and we michiganers should be proud of Motown. For instance did you know that Detroit has one of the best examples of American Art Deco Architecture? Its the Guardian Building and inside is covered with arches, naives like that of a basillica but has geometric shapes with brilliant colors like that of muslim cultures. Its crazy. Chris has inspired me to look up the history of Detroit and become proud of our large cities, not trash it because Eminem made a movie about 8 mile (I should also say that he grossly over exaggerated how bad it actually was.) I think Detroit is something to be proud of, you never hear of the good that is happening instead you only hear about the muggings and shootings (which also happen a lot in saginaw!) so my main point is before you trash Detroit actually see the good parts for yourself, don't be afraid of it, thats what ignorance is! As Chris implied, we're the future WE can MAKE Detroit.

Listen to this Ben Lee Song and You'll understand.
