Does this still work?

I can't believe livejournal is still around! So here's a new entry to prove that I am also still around!

I don't know if you've heard, but stuff has been happening. And because some stuff has been happening, other stuff has NOT been happening. And because a lot of stuff is not happening, I have done almost nothing. I almost never leave my apartment, so there's not much to talk about.

I guess I can log here though that there are exhaust fumes being pumped into my apartment. It started in March of 2020. I just noticed my throat drying out and thought it was just the dry air. I would go out on the balcony and after about 30 seconds my throat would start to feel better.

Then suddenly on May 14 2020 it hit hard. Suddenly I could smell something like car exhaust. It was horrible and has continued off and on ever since then. It's not really strong and if you walked in you probably wouldn't notice it. But if you sit down you really start to smell it after 10 or 20 minutes. Of course, no one will do that and they don't really believe me.

I've bought a few air quality detectors and they see nothing at all, but it's definitely there. If I go out in the hallway, it's not there. If I go down to my car, it's not there. I even went to work one night last week and it wasn't there either. But as soon as I got home, 10 minutes later my nose, throat and sinuses all started drying out and I could smell that odd odour again, so I'm definitely not imagining it.

I think this is a serious health concern but the manager doesn't seem to care at all. I talked to him on Friday (nov 19 2021) around noon and told him that I felt we needed to get the experts in, the people who service the boiler on the roof, and he wouldn't entertain that idea AT ALL. He said he would go up on the roof himself with one of the superintendents (who checked before and said he found nothing) on Monday, which, in my opinion, is definitely not enough. I feel that only people who have worked with this equipment would be able to figure this out.

However, the same evening after about 8pm, it went away! This is now day 4 that I've had perfectly clean air again. I'm sure it will be back in a few weeks but I find that coincidence to be very interesting. I have to wonder if maybe he doesn't want to get professionals in because they will find that the equipment up there hasn't been properly serviced in a long time and it will cost a lot of money to fix everything. I can't see any other reason for NOT calling them immediately. This could be a serious health issue and I'm pretty sure he would be held responsible so wouldn't he WANT to make sure this was fixed as soon as possible?

Anyway, I've documented everything but I don't know what can be done about it. I tried contacting Public Health but they said anything in a condo was up to the Board and there was nothing they could do. So it seems I'm screwed for now.

On another note, the reason I'm here is an email I received that says "You have received a LiveJournal virtual gift from livejournal". I assume this is spam so I recommend NOT clicking the link if you see this email. I came here via the normal method and I see nothing about a gift.

Ok, that's enough of a post for now. Bye.
