Arrived back home late last night from a fun and exhausting
World Fantasy Convention in Brighton. There’s lots to tell you about good times with good friends and good food, but I’ve no time for that now, as I’ve got to leap into the work which allows me to go to places like Brighton and have those good times eating good food with good friends.
So for now, let these nine photos stand in until I’m oriented back to life in the U.S. and am able to fill you in on the details …

Stephen Jones’
Psycho-Mania! anthology-which contains a story of mine-launched with a book signing at which I was told 23 contributors were on hand to autograph.

My dinner at
The Gingerman with Farah Mendlesohn, Edward James, Shana Worthen and Russell and Jenny Blackford ended with a scrumptious apple soufflé.

Afternoon tea with Kathleen Ann Goonan and her husband Joe at The Mock Turtle, supposedly the oldest tea shoppe in Brighton.

Two giants of the field-Brian Aldiss and William F. Nolan-both Lifetime Achievement Award winners-shared wisdom beyond our ken at the World Fantasy Convention mass signing.

I strummed the ukulele for several hours on both Saturday and Sunday, the first night with Nina Kiriki Hoffman and Lawrence Connolly, the second with Shelley Rae Clift.

I told you I’d do it and did it-tracked down the insane cheeseburger crust pizza-available for a limited time in the UK from Pizza Hut and widely mocked in the U.S.

Managed to escape one morning from the convention to visit the surreal
Jan Švankmajer exhibit hosted by the University of Brighton.

With Bill Nolan, holding his Lifetime Achievement Award, after the banquet. Wish I’d remembered to tell him that I’d had a story published in a Logan’s Run comic!

And to top it all off, I discovered on my flight home that the chips offered with my snack were prepared thanks in part due to The Doctor!
That’s it for now! More details later. And if you were there, I hope your World Fantasy was as much fun as you can see mine was.
