Spoiling your X-Mas morning magic...

Just finished up helping with the X-Mas parade taping at the Magic Kingdom. The one that you might watch on X-Mas morning is of course taped three weeks in advance to insure the magic (weather, etc...) is properly shown. Since this was my first year working in Entertainment at the Magic Kingdom for this event, it was pretty fun. I thought it was funny that they had A-Frame signs across the park explaining that there was "publicity" taping occuring for three days. I like that we admit that we are doing this taping in hopes that it makes you come and visit us at the park.

My celebrity sightings were minimal. Saw Brian Setzer on the castle stage with Mickey Mouse taping the opening of the show... a version of Jingle Bell Rocks. Saw Kelly Ripa walking around with her posse, which is the first time that I saw a 5' 2" blonde girl with a posse that looked just like her.

I was of course working with the park characters, insuring that the fantasy was being kept. Otherwise, making sure Mickey is ready on the parade float, and not going out to visit guests at the front of the park. I also was in charge of moving about 16 different characters to different locations in the park, since the parade was going to tromp through their normal queue area. You would think that this really would not be that big of a deal. But since I work for a large company, I have to get approval from about 6 different people/ departments to move just one character from Main Steet USA to Adventureland.

Overall, it was pretty fun. I got to show off my old PA/ Production Manager skills, and was able to see a lot of my normal cast working in areas that they don't, which made them pretty happy. Even if they did work about 100 hours over a five day period (with rehersals, crew calls, etc...), everyone seemed in good spirits. I think it was the thought of their paychecks being big than the actual X-Mas spirit though.

Had the last two days off, and have a pretty productive and relaxing time with Brendan and Jen. The biggest drama over the last few days happened Sunday night, when Brendan smashed the back of his head straight onto Jen's nose. At first I thought he broke it, but it just started bleeding and hurt for two days straight. At least it did not bruise up, because I thought the people she worked with would think that I was beating her at 7.5 months pregnant. Did not want the cops sent to the house.

Now the big question is... what do we name baby#2? It either Logan or Patrick at this time... choices choices...
