Summer! w00t w00t!
What a semester it has been, late nights, adventures, new friends--awesome, just awesome. But alas, all good things must come to end; how fortunate we are that this end is the beginning of another good thing. This summer is going to be awesome.
Today I finished my last exam, solidifying my A in Linear Algebra, and bringing closure to what I believe (pending official grade reports) was a 4.0 semester! Not only did I pull a 4.0, I pulled it after taking a week off to go to California and having what could only be described as a lackluster class attendence record. It was nice to get school finally out of the way. Everyone else finished on Thursday or Friday last week, but I had to study over the weekend. How unfair :-P. Had a great night, too. After the exam, I joined Stuart, Andrew, and Zach to finish our Axis and Allies game (which, as usual, I lost, but still had fun). After that, we went to Chili's with Elliot to celebrate the end of the semester. At this dinner, I decided two things. First, I am going to add a Software Engineering Major, because its not too many more classes, and the classes are interesting anyway. Second, I might apply at the Apple Store, but this would require me working more real work hours than I had planned. After dinner, Stuart, Andrew, and Elliot went to watch the Spurs defeat the Nuggets again, and Zach and I went to buy a volleyball (the owner of the communal volleyball went home) and then to CD World, where I got two cds: Oh, Inverted World by The Shins and A User's Guide to They Might Be Giants by They Might Be Giants. Both are bands I have only recently been exposed to, but they are both awesome, and The Shins album is amazing. After CD World, I hung out with Zach at the apartment listening to music and playing guitar. Later, we headed out to the volleyball court to practice, where we were eventually joined by Andrew. I am most pleased with my performance. My serves have gotten quite good, and the rest of my play, while still sloppy, is improving greatly. After about two hours of that, I returned home, all of my muscles sore, but in that good way.
This summer has many awesome things to anticipate:
1) the arrival of all of my friends from afar
2) hanging out with said friends, going to six flags, hurricane harbor, etc
3) new apartment - a place of my own - its gonna rock - move in june 8th - i'm gonna have a housewarming party
3) working with glenn and andrew on our game
4) Dave Matthews Concert on June 1st
5) building a huge set of speakers :-D
6) learning how to not suck at guitar and keyboard
7) many many other things
I will sum up the state of my world quite simply:
:-D
